“A travel document is an identity document issued by a government or international treaty organization to facilitate the movement of individuals or small groups of persons across international boundaries. Travel documents usually assure other governments that the bearer may return to the issuing country, and are often issued in booklet form to allow other governments to place visas as well as entry and exit stamps into them. The most common travel document is a passport, which usually gives the bearer more privileges like visa-free access to certain countries. However, the term is sometimes used only for those documents which do not bear proof of nationality, such as a refugee travel document.”

Almost always, each cruise guest can check in online at 24 hours after final payment has been made. We encourage cruisers all to do this as early as possible and the cruise lines require some online information mandatory or can deny boarding. We suggest you make certain you are checked-in and onboard no later than 90 minutes prior to the sailing time or again, depending on the ship, you will not be permitted to sail. This is government regulation. Once you have checked-in online, bring your identification documents with you to the cruise terminal. You will receive a card to board the ship. This card is important. Do not lose it, as it is all that allows you to embark and disembark in ports, open your ship stateroom, and pay for charges onboard ship.
